Nuvia consortium secures three-year extension to Project Management Unit contract at Kozloduy, Bulgaria

State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SERAW) has awarded a further three-year extension to the Decommissioning-Repository Project Management Unit (D-R PMU) Consultant contract, to the Empresarios Agrupados / Nuvia Consortium.

Since 2013, Nuvia personnel have been supporting D-R PMU in managing the programme for the decommissioning of Kozloduy NPP Units 1-4 and the construction of the National Disposal Facility in Bulgaria. The programme is funded by the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Recent significant achievements have included the commissioning of a Plasma Melting Facility, and a Size Reduction and Decontamination Facility.

Nuvia is delighted that SERAW has chosen to continue its partnership with the Consortium through to 2022, and commenting on this contract, Andrew Graham, Nuvia’s International Business Manager, said:
This extension reflects well on the value that Nuvia and its partners bring to SERAW’s Kozloduy Decommissioning and National Disposal Facility programmes. It aligns with our strategic aims to develop long term relationships with our Clients.”
