Nuvia awarded a place on Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL)’s major Decommissioning Services Framework.

The Decommissioning Services Framework will be used to facilitate DSRL’s transition towards full scale decommissioning and will enable contracts to be placed through mini competitions.

The framework is valid for up to seven years with a potential spend of up to £400M and covers the following scope:

Design and Build

Deplanting, decommissioning, decontamination and demolition of redundant facilities

Project management, engineering, design, safety case and site (including environmental) remediation requirements

Nuvia, with our team partners – Graham Construction, Oxford Technologies and Thompson of Prudhoe, brings strength and depth of resources, with capabilities and experience of successfully delivering nuclear projects safety, to time, cost and quality. When delivering projects via this framework, as we do with our other site contracts, we will also draw on our extensive local supply chain.

This framework underpins Nuvia’s ongoing long-term presence and investment in the region. We are committed to supporting DSRL in delivering its vision under the Dounreay Socio Economic Plan and support for the Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership (CNSRP).

Nuvia’s Marketing Director, Kris Bradshaw, said:
Nuvia has had a strong presence at Dounreay for many years, with 150 employees currently based at Caithness delivering impressive projects, services and health physics support for DSRL.

This framework win will allow us to further grow our involvement in the region and the longer-term nature of the contract will enable us to increase our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, with significant benefits for the local community.

Nuvia is looking forward to supporting DSRL with its decommissioning mission by utilising this and other frameworks we hold such as: Decommissioning Support Services, Design and Engineering Services and DSRL specific health physics contracts which was awarded using the NDA Collaborative Procurement II.

Nuvia’s Business Manager for DSRL, David Craig, said:
We are delighted to have secured this framework and the opportunity it brings to extend our relationship with DSRL. Working with our team of Graham Construction, Oxford Technologies and Thompson of Prudhoe, we look forward to supporting DSRL in delivering its decommissioning objectives towards achieving the site interim end state. As well as providing increased opportunities for Nuvia, in delivering projects via this framework, we will seek to bring substantial benefits to the local supply chain and communities.
