That Was Some Shift!!

01 May 2010

Following almost 44 years of continuous shift service on the Dounreay Site, Allan Munro of Nuvia completed his last shift on Friday 30 April, which coincided with the termination of the safety surveillance contract at PFR.

His colleagues joined him at PFR on this occasion where he was presented with an engraved silver hip flask in recognition of his dedication to his work and commitment to shifts at Dounreay.

Allan started work on shifts at DMTR in October 1966 and was transferred to PFR in 1971. Here he spent the remainder of his career undertaking a wide range of activities in support of the reactor including plant commissioning, plant operations and latterly plant decommissioning operations.
