Our Management Team

Nuvia’s management team consists of experienced individuals with proven track records in their respective fields of expertise. They are responsible for delivering Nuvia’s vision to be recognised as a world class provider of solutions to some of the most complex technical challenges in the nuclear industry; from new build, through operations to decommissioning and waste management.

Keith Collett

Managing Director / CEO

Keith has been an Executive Director at Nuvia since 1995, becoming CEO / Managing Director in July 2008. He has managed a wide spread of activities across the Company including direct responsibility for the Dounreay, Consulting and Health Physics Divisions, Human Resources, Marketing and Commercial Services.

Keith is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers for which he undertakes corporate membership interviews

Dr Richard Birch

Director of Services and Assurance

Richard was appointed to the Senior Management Team in February 2003 following a career in radiation protection. As a research scientist he carried out research into the measurement and calculation of X-ray and neutron spectra, with the aim of improving dose measurement and reducing radiation doses. He became the manager of Radiation Dosimetry in 1994. As Nuvia’s Director of Services and Assurance Richard has Board level responsibility for Health Physics, Technical Services and Operations as well as the SHE, Quality and Security aspects that combine to make Assurance.

Richard is a Member of the Society for Radiological Protection and the World Nuclear Association Radiological Protection Group.

Ken Robertson

Director of Projects, Engineering and Consulting

As Director of Projects, Engineering & Consulting, Ken is responsible for winning and successfully delivering Nuvia’s major engineering and consultancy projects. In his role, he oversees the resourcing and delivery of projects, continuous improvement in project management, engineering design and commercial services. Ken is tasked with ensuring that we exceed our customer’s expectations in project delivery.

Mike Roberts

Finance Director

A Chartered Accountant with a number of years’ experience in senior financial roles, Mike joined Nuvia in 2002 as Financial Controller. He became Finance Director in 2008 with full responsibility for accounting systems and financial reporting within the Company, including the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls. In 2009 Mike’s responsibilities were increased to include legal and property services, IS and procurement.

Mike’s experience and technical knowledge assists the Board in setting and delivering the Company’s overall strategy and key current year priorities. In addition to these, there is an ongoing requirement to deliver high quality management information to project teams, enabling them to maintain total control over their budgets and thereby deliver maximum value for money to clients.

John Mercer

Marketing Director

John has been in the nuclear industry for over 30 years including project management and R&D for the AGRs at Heysham and Torness prior to joining Nuvia in 1995. Since then he has held a variety of high level commercial and marketing roles including tenders management, marketing and business development and Director of Consulting. He was appointed Marketing Director in October 2010.
